The E. Philip Saunders College of Business at the Rochester Institute of Technology invites nominations and applications for the Senior Associate Dean appointment. Candidates will have a doctorate in business or closely related field and a record of intellectual contributions.
As the chief operating officer, the Senior Associate Dean partners with the Dean to implement the College's vision and strategic plan. Preference will be given to candidates with managerial/leadership experience in the AACSB reaffirmation process, curriculum development and faculty evaluation. Managerial experience in staffing, preparing budget and knowledge in regional accreditation standards and process are also preferred. We are seeking individuals who are committed to contributing to RIT's core values, honor code, and statement of diversity.

Position: Senior Associate Dean, Saunders College of Business
General: The Senior Associate Dean of the Saunders College of Business acts as the chief operating officer for the College and reports directly to the Dean.
Major Responsibilities:
- Represents the Dean and serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the College.
- Manage college operations, including the budget and expenditures, staffing, and information infrastructure.
- Coordinate the activities of College committees, including drafting committee charges and committee assignments for review and approval by the Dean.
- Supervise Associate Dean for Teaching and Curriculum, Assistant Dean for Student Services, the Assistant Dean for Administration, and non-exempt personnel in Dean’s Office and have overall responsibility for their operations.
- Oversee the development of staff position descriptions, and the hiring and performance evaluation of staff.
- Work with the Dean to carry out the Dean’s vision for the College.
- Work with the Dean to build linkages with other colleges at the Institute and work collaboratively with them.
- Work with the Dean to prepare annual budget proposals to the Institute.
- Provide overall academic leadership to the College in areas of teaching, intellectual contributions and innovation.
- Participate in activities related to recruiting.
- Responsible for the annual evaluations of faculty.
- Oversee the college’s promotion and tenure process.
- Work through the Intellectual Contributions Committee to administer grants and awards and to raise the intellectual profile of the college.
- Where appropriate, respond to student and staff issues brought to the attention of the Dean’s Office.
- Coordinate handling of academic integrity issues.
- Coordinate the revising and maintenance of the College policies and procedures with the help of the Asst. Dean for Administration and initiate changes where appropriate.
- Monitor and coordinate efforts to ensure compliance with AACSB standards. Lead the College in AACSB reaffirmation process.
- Monitor and coordinate College efforts to ensure compliance with Middle States standards. Represent the College on Institute committees dealing with Middle States accreditation issues.
- Lead the College in learning outcomes assessment activities, including the communication of assessments to appropriate groups within the College and Institute.
- As appropriate, consult with the Dean on all aspects of the above areas of responsibility and inform the Dean of significant developments related to these responsibilities.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Dean.
