RIT's Commencement Weekend offers individual recognition of each graduate at the college ceremonies held on Friday and Saturday, with university-wide recognition of all graduates at the Academic Convocation on Friday afternoon. The official conferral of degrees occurs at the Friday afternoon university-wide Academic Convocation while the individual recognition of graduates crossing the stage occurs at the college ceremonies. We encourage you to attend both the Convocation and your graduate's college ceremony.
Graduates of RIT's nine colleges and their guests are invited to the Academic Convocation, the university's community Commencement celebration at 3:00 PM on Friday, May 25 in the Gordon Field House and Activities Center. Saunders College students will line up in the Gordon Field House and will walk as a College into the ceremonies. It will be during this special gathering of the RIT community that President Destler will officially confer degrees on graduates from throughout RIT's nine colleges. The Convocation will also feature a Commencement Address and student remarks.
In addition to the Academic Convocation, the Saunders College of Business will host its own commencement ceremony at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 26 in the Ritter Ice Arena. During the college commencement ceremony, each graduate will be individually recognized and congratulated by his or her dean.
Immediately following the ceremony, you are invited to a reception on the front lawn of the College.
It is STRONGLY suggested to ALL attending that you make hotel reservations early.
Further information about Commencement activities can be found at the official RIT Commencement page.
